HOW?
Some records are worth SOME BIG bucks. Some records are worth NOTHING. So whats the deal?
Records are worth different amounts based on a few basic principles:
1) Rarity - Was this a record that everyone bought? Did nobody buy it? For instance, The Beatles' album Abbey Road sold 5 million copies in the first month, since then it has sold millions more. Is it rare? No. Does it still have value, yes! See #2
2) Content - People love the Beatles. People love certain Jazz artists. The content makes records valuable. Think about what has lasting stay power. Some things do, others don't. The content is IMPORTANT.
3) Condition- Don't ever underestimate the importance of condition. You might have a first pressing Beatles record, but you also used it as an ash tray and beer coaster during those great college years. Unfortunately, records have to be in good condition!
